The “Guardian of Israel” remains silent

Chuck Schumer–a Jewish American himself–has failed to take strong action against the rise in anti-Semitism from his own party. By refusing to take a decisive stand against these racist ideologies and bigoted members of his own caucus, he has allowed anti-Israel and anti-Semitic ideas to slowly seep into the party’s dialogue.

While he has come out to condemn some of the anti-Semitic statements made by Omar, he has failed to take strong decisive action that his powerful position within the Democratic Party allows for. He has also yet to address the multitude of ties between Rashida Tlaib and various Hezbollah and Hamas terrorist supporters.

In a highly questionable and offensive move, Schumer backed Keith Ellison to be Chairman of the Democratic National Committee in 2016. Keith Ellison had been a follower of virulent anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan in the 1990s and has been accused of secretly meeting with Farrakhan as recently as 2016.

In recent days, more and more Jewish Americans have called on Chuck Schumer to take strong decisive action against the creeping anti-Semitism in the Democratic Party.

And yet, Chuck Schumer continues to remain silent.
