First Democratic Debate

A few short weeks ago, the Democratic Presidential Candidates took the debate stage in Miami, Florida for the first time this election cycle. And we were there.

Defeat Anti-Semitism was out in full force, handing out goodies and spreading our message: that we will not stand silently as anti-Semitic hate crimes and sentiment continue to surge in the United States. We had a great time talking with people of all shapes and sizes, colors and creeds, discussing the surge in anti-Semitism in America, a key issue heading into this election cycle.

Most people we talked with were aware of the problem, but didn’t realize how big it had become. Anti-Semitic hate crimes are up significantly across all 50 states and we need to commit to defeating this racist ideology.

While we enjoyed what the candidates on the debate stage had to say regarding a variety of important topics, we were disheartened that not a single mention of anti-Semitism came up on either night of the debates. We are doing what we can to fight anti-Semitism, but we need our leaders to take strong and decisive action to fight the bigotry. Anti-Semitic ideas are beginning to take shape in some parts of the Democratic Party from BDS to “New Anti-Semitism”. Defeat Anti-Semitism is calling on all Democratic Presidential Candidates to outline a clear plan of action to curb the rising tide of anti-Semitism in our party, country, and world.

Defeat Anti-Semitism First Democratic Debate

We hope the next #DemDebate will finally deal with surge in anti-Semitism within the party and across all 50 states. This serious issue deserves the attention of every candidate and a plan of action to combat the trend.
