This past week, the House of Representatives voted on, and passed House Resolution 246 – Opposing efforts to delegitimize the State of Israel and the Global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement targeting Israel.
With over 350 Co-Sponsors on the bill, it is safe to say it was popular among our elected representatives.
The resolution passed by a vote of 398 – 17. We were encouraged to see the overwhelming support for Israel and the Jewish people, but are also disappointed by the lack of unanimity in the vote.
The BDS (Boycott, divestment, & sanction) Movement is anti-Semitic in nature and should be forcefully condemned by all of our leaders. It does not recognize the legitimacy of Israel or the right of self-determination for the Jewish People. Both of these are classic tactics used by anti-Semites for generations to deny Jews their civil rights.
Our grassroots army has one mission and one mission alone: to scrub anti-Semitism from all corners of the globe.
